Have A Pawsome National Pet Day

Grab the leash and pack up the treats for National Pet Day. This year, instead of a standard walk in the park, bring your furry friend out for a day among the red rocks. Whether your four-legged companion is a trail hound, adventure cat, or pocket pup, Sedona Center has pet-friendly finds for one of the most loved members of your family.

Chow Down

Fuel up your pup (and you too!) at our three full-service restaurants. Not only are the patios dog-friendly, but each also has a “Best Friend” menu.

  • At the Open Range Grill & Tavern, doggos can enjoy the pub life with a hot dog or hamburger paired with a side of carrots. Or perhaps they’d like to join you for some finer dining with grilled chicken or sliced turkey also with those nummy carrots on the side.

  • Don Diego’s puts the olé in your dog’s day with choices of a hamburger or all-natural baked chicken breast served with apple slices. For good boys with big appetites, opt for a bowl of rice, spinach, carrots and Mexican cheeses or a combo of rice, spinach, carrots, apple slices and Mexican cheeses topped with a beef patty or chicken breast. Woof!

  • The Sedona Pizza & Pasta Company has a four-legged fan favorite – chicken apple sausages with apple slices. Yes, please!

Easy Riders

Rides through Sedona red rocks are better with friends. If your pet joins you on the open road, or if your just looking to outfit them in motorcycle chic, stop by Harley Davidson of Sedona. The store embraces the spirit of adventure for all members of the family and has a selection of accessories for dogs. Think sturdy collars and stylish leashes.

Pro-tip: Find the Harley Davidson shop on the upper level of the Sinagua Plaza. The upper-level walkways provide great settings for photos with postcard-perfect backdrops of the Sedona rocks.

Pawsome Shopping

Commemorate your day with a Sedona souvenir just for Fido. Our shops and boutiques at Sedona Center have treasures of all kinds. Gift shops like Cactus Carlos are filled with Sedona memorabilia, including lovable (and doggie-chewable) plushies. And artisan shops like the Beef Jerky Experience have tasty treats for both you and your pet.

Before entering boutiques, be considerate of those around you. Small spaces and products may not make the shop a good fit for your pet at all times. If you don’t see “pets-welcome” signage visible, ask the staff about bringing yours in. Service animals, of course, are always allowed.

Be Prepared

Bringing your pet with you for a day in Sedona is a great way to celebrate the joy our four-legged friends bring to our lives. A little planning will ensure you have a carefree day in our high desert wonderland:

  • Carry extra water and be sure they are hydrating frequently. Our pet-friendly restaurants will always help you out, too.

  • Respect others around you, and protect the water quality along our creeks by cleaning up after your pet. You’ll find pet waste stations with bags and trash cans at most Sedona trailheads. At Sedona Center, you’ll find waste cans along the city streets.
